Sunrise walk

 

Took the morning walk in Maspalomas while the sun was rising today. No wind, no sand, no clouds. A perfect day!

Back home the wind is starting to pick up again, and you can see the sand in the air.
No no no! I don't want to have more wind and sand!

Windy sandstorm

Bloody - uh, sorry - I mean windy hell! Woke up at 5 this morning of the wind trying to take the house for a ride. I thought the windy sandstorm was over yesterday, but I guess it returned for some more. The sand is denser and the visibility lower than yesterday.

The house is full of sand and its 30 degrees outside. But worst of all is that the calima will continue until Sunday!

On the positive side: It's at these times you can finally use the words "What would Bear Grylls have done?!?"

And isn't it ironic...

 

Gotta buy me a camel and a burka...

We made our own little awning-kind-of-thingy over the balcony a while ago, but it fell down during the windy sandstorm in July. This weekend we finally got it back up again.

But what happened today? Another windy sandstorm came, and the awning-kind-of-thingy down it fell...

What goes up - must come down, they say. But it could have lasted a few more days!

Blue skies with dark clouds

 

Blue skies over the sea, big dark clouds and rain in the end of the valley of Puerto Rico. Exactly the opposite of yesterday... ;)

Lazy police

 

A couple had a big fight in the stairs now. Called the police but all quiet when they came, so they didnt even go out of the car to check... So much screaming & hitting and then quiet. Hope they are not lying dead in the stairs! The police could have had a quick look at least... Oh well... Welcome to the tourist resorts of Gran Canaria! :S
